《中国现代流通硬币标准目录》从2012年面世起至今已是第三版，深受读者欢迎，已经成为中国流通硬币的收藏工具书，并成为美国著名的钱币评级公司PCGS的评级参考，PCGS的币盒标签上使用了书中的编号。最近几年发行的新品种，本书均有收录，确保完整，与时俱进。《中国现代流通硬币标准目录》注重版别的区别描述，侧重于知识。此前编写的另一本书《现代钱币收藏与投资》（修订版），讲述现代钱币收藏的市场万象、收藏理念、钱币背后的故事，侧重于文化。因此两本书对照阅读，可以全面了解中国流通硬币的收藏历史与现状。
《中国现代流通硬币标准目录》收录了新中国成立以来，截至2019年10月中国人民银行发行的所有流通属性的硬币，包括前后四套流通硬币和普通纪念币。四套流通硬币包括硬分币、长城币、牡丹币和菊花币。普通纪念币按照普制币、精制币、样币和精制样币分四类介绍，所收录的普制币和精制币一枚不缺，是完整的大全套，样币完整收录了2005年以前所发行的，精制样币收录了钱币界目前已知的所有品种。书中钱币品相**，实物拍摄，原大展示，资料翔实，并标注市场参考价，是中国现代钱币收藏爱好者必备的工具书。
